The Edward P. Evans Foundation

The Edward P. Evans Foundation was established in 1984. During Mr. Evans' lifetime, the Foundation supported a variety of causes and made transformational gifts to such institutions and charities as Yale University Press, Yale University, Harvard Business School, the Warrenton Antiquarian Society, the National Sporting Library, Piedmont Environmental Council and various medical and equine charities.

The Edward P. Evans Foundation was an early supporter of CapCure (later to become the Prostate Cancer Foundation) as well as building and capital projects at Mr. Evans alma maters Eaglebrook, Yale and Harvard Business School. In 2010 Mr. Evans pledged $50M to Yale University for the construction of Edward P. Evans Hall, a state of the art building designed by Sir Norman Foster & Partners which will be the centerpiece of the new Yale School of Management campus. Following Mr. Evans death on December 31, 2010 and in keeping with his wishes, the mandate of the Foundation was amended to establish the Foundation's primary mission: supporting transformational and collaborative medical research in the areas of Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
